- Nathan’s 23rd Birthday! He woke up, ate his own cake and then told me casually as he was saying goodbye. I cried.
- Last minute shopping in Bondi for Nath’s present. Found the perfect black winter jacket. Yessss.
- Decided that Borders is a tops place to pick up, after being asked to go to coffee and invited to a “music awards night” by some dude who like that I was in the creative magazines section. Weird.
- Bought Nathan two new cakes, so that I could give them to him. We ate them on the train on the way home, where we found Krystle.
- Picked up Mexican for Nath’s dinner after soccer. It was a bit gross by the time he finally came home.
- Open at Boost at 7:30. Feeling pretty awful. Made Tash go buy me Maccas breakfast before she started
- Nathan met me at Cronulla for my much anticipated strawberries and chocolate at Splash Tapas. It was such a nice day we couldn't get a seat out in the sun
- Went down to the beach. Ahh Sydney winters. Lay in the sun for ages until Nath finally worked himself up enough to go for a swim
- Home for naptime. I was exhausted.
- Woke up with a craving for ice cream. Nath and I went Maccas drive through to get a Cheeseburger and Oreo McFlurry. Maccas twice in one day. Ewww. Went to Coles to grab some shopping and discovered a huge Huntsman spider!
- Once again tried to find the best course in film to do after I finish my degree in a few weeks! Seem to be spending a lot of time trying to work out what to do next these days
- Spoke to my sister. Apparently her and Geoff are over for good. But she says that ever few weeks
- Lift to Cronulla with Mum and Dad and their friends. Mum picked me out a nice wine that she thought I would like, after I whined about hating drinking at restaurants cause wine is disgusting
- Dinner at Royal O with the girls from school. We are always so loud. I lose my voice at our dinners and everyone else in the restaurant hates us. People asked to move! I don't know why we are so damn loud.
- On to the Lounge for more fun. A Canadian guy bought us bottles of Champagne for Prue's Birthday. Didn't get home till 2:30, which was late considering my early start the next morning. Prue ended up sleeping at Nathan's with me after we made a bad taxi decision.
- Tsuki all day. Russian Resurrection getting closer!
- Ran to the postal box. Again.
- Caught the train home with Nathy and mX.
- Watched The Ice Storm (1997). Little Elijah Wood, Christina Ricci, Katie Holmes and Tobey Maguire. Weird.
- Tried to find more presents for Nath in the online shopping world
- Online shopping binge for Nath's birthday. Ended up buying more for myself. Melissa Wizard of Oz shoes!
- Tried to find some cool production companies to apply for internships at, and found The Directors Bureau with Sofia Coppola! They have an internship program too. Imagine that.
- Went up to Miranda to find Nath a jacket with Martina. Alas nothing good.
- Found a DVD on the six degrees of Kevin Bacon! Hilarious.
- Struggled with public transport on the way home, so Trent eventually picked us up.
- Tsuki in the morning. Found out about Jess and WD
- Went to an Art Month event for Tsuki in the evening
- Convinced Jess to get mash and gravy from Harry's Cafe de Wheels. Yum. I had a huge chicken and mushroom pie with mash and gravy on top!
- Got rudely rejected by all Taxi drivers because we had food. Finally a taxi driver/comedian picked us up
- Found Nath, eventually at Central Station, and we went home together
- Open at Boost with Tash and Georgia. Porgie hid my drink and distracted me from recovering my phone. Unfortunate.
- Met Dee and Tash and got Ritz Chix for lunch, then went back to Dee's to sit in the last of the afternoon sun
- Boozy catch up dinner with Dee, Tash, Amz and Mia. Good times making a ruckus out the front at Cedar's despite them trying to give us the boot before 10:00 pm.
- Back to Dee's to continue the party. Early wake-up catching up with me. Used Dee's new remote for her camera to attempt a 'family portrait'
- Nath picked me up and dropped Amz and Mia home. Finally rescued my picnic basket from the oh so long ago Broken Castle. I'm too scared to open it.
- Tsuki all day. Stressful times finalising all RRFF promotions.
- Ran to the post office and got there just in time. Hate running. Hate exercise.
- Ordered Jai Dee thai. Sooo good. Been waiting for ages to get some, ever since Nate got back.
- Tash came over and watched the Season Finale of Grey's Anatomy
- Somehow stumbled onto the old Caringbah High website and forum for our year. Flashbacks. So funny!
- Could not get out of bed. Changed Tsuki to Friday instead
- Convinced Nath to stay home and finish his literature review instead of going to uni
- Put Nathan's hair into two ponytails. His dream hairstyle inspired by some anime cartoon
- Set up my speakers and iPod and cooked dinner. Coconut Rice and Butter Chicken.
- More Big Bang Theory. Onto the Season 2!
- Tried to find a video of someone singing Happy Birthday Melissa on YouTube for my sister's birthday
- Called Liss and listened to her read out all of her birthday messages.
- Waited at Grays Point turnoff for Sam and Paul. Spoke to Amz on the phone to pass the time. Excited for Saturday girls dinner.
- Went to dinner at Thai Passion in Newtown with Angela, Nicole, Sam, Paul and Sarah.
- Phoenix at the Enmore! Had a great view and lots of space. They were such a great band to see live. Lots of energy and a good mix of old and new songs.
- Tsuki half day. Stressful times for Jess.
- Let my Id take over while on the phone to Dee and bought M&M's, a packet of orange Tic Tac's, a Golden Rough and a Mint Pattie. Ate nearly all of it before Nath got on the train at Redfern
- Home while the sun was still up. Nice feeling for poor little Natedog.
- More Big Bang Theory and Wolverine (2009) as I tried to distract Nath from his literature review
- Tried to imagine how many people's lives would have been different had a Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel not saved Nath's Grandad in WWII. Nathan would never have existed. Who would I write about all the time?
- Spent most of the day trying to come up with a present for my sister's birthday. Mum needed it by 5:00 to send to Perth
- Made a mix CD for my music deprived sister. Probably had more fun that I should have. Fashioned a case out of the empty Black Forest chocolate box. Genius!
- Considered buying her Tarot cards after I've gotten into them via my iPhone Goddess Tarot App. Ha!
- Close at the Bistro with Jess and Angela. Hating life. So many bogan mofos.
- Stan dropped the most amount of glasses I have ever seen. Absolutely spectacular! Just before the plastic cups started being used.
- Bistro open with Georgia. Cut potatoes it was so dead
- Went back to my demolished house to visit my new room. Pretty swish. Picked up uni books for my reflective journal. No excuses now
- Tried to find someone to come to Splash with me to dip strawberries in chocolate. But alas, everyone was busy.
- Hung out at Nathy's house, waiting for him to finish soccer
- Went downstairs to ask if anyone wanted Jai Dee's and was roped into having a family dinner of Chilli Con Pasta. Whatever that is. Martina and I sat on the lounge in disapproval, but it was actually pretty good
- Opened at Boost with Georgia, Lara and Tash. Just like old times.
- Nath met me for Splash Tapas. So nice to sit out in the sun. The food was delicious too. I wish I could have fit in chocolate dipped strawberries.
- Shopping for food to keep at Nathan's. Black Forest and Apple Chews. Both gone before the end of the day. No need to write my name on them.
- Home for a Big Bang Theory mini-marathon. I'd never seen an episode before, but it's a decent enough show made funnier by the fact that Nath is a physicist.
- Martina arrived from Vienna. Full house at the Butterworth Hotel.
- Tsuki. Jess and Jane were both away. Moh.
- Convinced Nath to catch the train to Kings Cross to meet me.
- Double date, double dinner with Nicole and Mitch. The most delicious tempura chicken at a Japanese restaurant, then sweet and sour main at Thai. Fatties!
- Met up with everyone at Chingalings, but didn't stay long. Nath was covered in dirt still from soccer and I had to open the next day.
- Arrived at Nath's house and found a cylinder container from the post office. We both knew it was his Bachelor's Degree from the Gong. I performed a mock graduation ceremony and we opened it. Getting a degree is such a let down. It was two pieces of paper. A certificate and a transcript. I could print that off at home! Five years of university for THIS!!!!
- Back to Uni. My bus didn't turn up so I ended up being late to class. I don't seem to be having much luck with transport lately!
- Internship Project lecture was sort of scary. Actually made this project that I have been putting off for a year seem real. Funny to think of all of my friends that did it a whole year ago.
- Lunchie munchies at Broadway with Amz and Lucy. When will I learn that food court Asian is always feral. Always!
- Waited for Nath to finish and chilled with Amz. Picked up our film essays and lay on the grass talking shit about screenplay ideas.
- Went to see Harry Potter again with Nathy! More Skittles. Need to stop eating them. I've returned to the glory days of my high school Skittles obsession.
- Slept in and tried to recover from the weekend
- Emailed Uni about my incorrect enrolment. Finally! Also worked out that my only class will be on Thursdays.
- Called up sick to the Bistro. Ergh. Changed my Tsuki shift to Friday. All of a sudden have free time! Yay.
- Hung up my new fur jacket and crazy velvet dress that arrived after Splendour unfortunately. Have to keep on top of my mess in Nath's room. Trish had cleaned up all of stuff and hung it all up while I was gone. Oops.
- Carlie and I went on a last ditch effort and had dinner and drinks catch up. Haloumi, parma and vodka sunrise! Turning into an alcoholic.
- Packed the rest of our things and waited patiently for our unreliable bus again!
- The bus was 30 mins late, yet we arrived only 5 mins later that the scheduled arrival time. Old mate was driving 120 km/h the entire way! I was so tired I fell asleep anyway. Very unlike me.
- Our flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours due to an unserviceable aircraft, i.e plane that will fall out of the sky. Great. So fun times at Coolangatta airport's Departure Lounge. Worst airport ever. Watched YouTube videos that people had put up from Splendour. Finally listened to Riverside Motherfucker after singing it non-stop since it's first appearance on Saturday
- Finally on the plane. Hating life. The only good part was the awesome view of Sydney at dusk. So pretty.
- Dad picked us up and Nathan returned home for the first time since he left for LA.
- Home time for most. But not us! A bit of cleaning up, mainly executed by Nath. Said our goodbyes to Tasho and left for the beach.
- Lay on the beach in the nice winter sun. Such a great day for it. We stupidly bought Tim Tams for beach food and the great photo saga of Nathaniel P. Butterworth's Race Against The Melting Chocolate was created. Carlie and Michael came to find us but weren't too keen on our next plan
- We decided to go for a lovely afternoon stroll down the beach in search of rockstars. But instead we only found rock faces. They were still pretty impressive! The rock was so soft you could make marks in it with your finger.
- Met back up with Carlie and Michael at the Beach Hotel for late afternoon drinks, and then went to The Middle East with some of their friends for dinner
- Afterwards we went upstairs to the balcony where Paul and Sam were staying. Hung out there for awhile. Felt pretty tired. Attempts to party on at the Beach and Cheeky Monkey's were pretty dismal and we were home before midnight
- Arrived at the Festival just in time for The Middle East. Blood was an awesome singalong!
- Ate a divine pie. Decided to restrict my food intake after the previous day's binge on awful, terrible food
- Stayed with Tash for most of the day but met up with everyone for a massive dance to Friendly Fires. Couldn't believe Amz missed Paris! The horror.
- Staked out the main stage waiting for MGMT and The Flaming Lips. Found Amz and Dewey and all of the people we were staying with. I went ballistic in MGMT especially hearing their new songs. Everyone else was a bit underwhelmed. Flaming Lips were unreal. I want to find out how you get to be one of their dancers! Do you realiseeeee?
- Quick trip to Tipi and then the trudge home. Nathan gave me a piggyback. World's greatest karaoke dance party at home. S Club 7 absolutely went off.
- Woke up with a splitting headache. Was seriously worried that something in my skull might burst. Readied for Splendour and then started drinking out on our deck with everyone, shared sections of the newspaper
- Walked to Splendour. Was a bit further than we had anticipated. Saw Yves Klein Blue. I think.
- Went to Tipi Forest where the annoying theme song of the weekend made it's debut. Riverside Motherfuckers!
- Walked to the camping ground to meet Amz and Mia. Parked there for a fair few hours and had far too many drinks. Everyone left and we had a singalong to Wild Horses and New Slang in the car. Thought I had lost my ring but had really only lost my shit.
- Back to the Festival just in time to see the end of Bloc Party. Ran into Carlie and Michael, held hands and danced around in a circle. Back to Tipi and then home for more dance party action.
- Got ready to leave for Splendour. Did my hair and spoke to Tasho and Nate. He had arrived safely at the airport and was sitting there waiting for our flight
- Dad drove me to the airport and Nathan met us outside the Terminal to ditch his suitcase. Reunion time at the Departure Lounge. Got Maccas and had to throw away my tweezers and razor. I knew I would had to, don't know why I bothered bringing them. Nathan found 50 bucks!
- Our "Reliable. Fast. Airport Transfer' was late. I dozed on the way to Byron listening to The Shins
- At the house! Raining. We met all of Tash and Schmang's friends, who we were staying with. Started drinking and then departed for dinner
- Nathan bought shit Rose and we all proceeded to get blind. Tried to get into Beach Hotel and stood in the line for an hour. Left and found Paul with "no pants on" out the back of the Northern. Went home and fell asleep on a bed made of cushions.
